TRAVEL TEAM SOCCER FAQ's
What is "Travel" soccer?
Travel soccer is a more competitive level of soccer than recreational soccer.
SYSA has, in the past and at various times, had glrls teams, boys teams and co-ed teams.
Where do teams travel to?
Teams travel to play other teams in the seacoast area, usually not more than 40 miles away.
When do travel teams play?
The teams play in both fall & spring, on Saturdays and/or Sundays during each season.
How does a player get on a travel team?
Try-outs are generally held in late May.
Since SYSA is a very small league, provided there is availability on the team, most players who come out for a team do not get cut.
The teams are formed based on the number of players who are willing and able to play and the availability of a coach.
There have been times when SYSA has not been able to field any teams because we did not have a coach or not enough players.
How much does is cost to play?
The fees are higher than recreational because the team plays in a regional league, buys their own uniforms and gas for travel costs.
