2020 SYSA SUMMER CAMP - COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS AND PROCEDURES

SYSA IS COMMITTED TO DOING EVERYTHING WITHIN OUR POWER TO MINIMIZE THE RISK OF SPREADING/ CONTRACTING COVID-19.

The following procedures have been established in adherence with current CDC guidelines, the New Hampshire COVID-19 Reopening Guidance of the Governor’s Economic Reopening Taskforce, July 7, 2020 and the Sanborn Regional School District COVID-19 Field Use regulations.

PLEASE READ THIS DOCUMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE REGISTERING YOUR CHILD. IF YOU COMPLETE THE ONLINE REGISTRATION, THEN YOU ARE AGREEING TO THE CONDITIONS DEFINED HERE.

ALL CAMPERS AND FAMILIES ARE EXPECTED TO FOLLOW THESE PROCEDURES.

IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THEM, THEN YOU SHOULD CONSIDER THAT THIS CAMP IS NOT FOR YOU AND YOU SHOULD NOT REGISTER YOUR CHILD.

PARENT/FAMILY DISTANCING

  • Parents will be required to stay in their cars when dropping off and picking up campers.
  • Parent will need to sign a screening questionnaire about their child having symptoms and contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19.
  • Each camper will have his/her temperature checked at the field each day of camp. If it is 100.4 or higher, the camper will not be allowed to participate for the day.
  • Spectators will not be allowed to be on the field to watch during camp activities.
  • Parents will be allowed to pick up their child should he/she get sick or injured during camp

INDIVIDUAL EQUIPMENT – NO SHARING OF EQUIPMENT ALLOWED

Each camper is expected to bring the following, CLEARLY LABELED WITH THEIR NAME, to camp every day:

  • Soccer ball
  • Shinguards (style with cloth covering or socks that go over)
  • Backpack/bag, clearly labeled with name, large enough to contain all individual possessions
  • Water Bottle
  • Snack (half-day) and lunch (full-day)
  • Mask
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Sunscreen
  • Empty plastic bag for trash (to be taken home  each day)
CLEATS are allowed but not required

MASKS 
MUST be worn:

  • When entering and exiting field
  • Break times when congregating in groups
  • Walking to, from & while using the single-person bathroom
  • In the field house if shelter is needed for thunderstorm

WILL NOT be worn:

  • During physical activities, drills
  • Eating/drinking

THE FOLLOWING SAFETY PRECAUTIONS IMPLEMENTED AND MONITORED BY CAMP & SYSA STAFF

  1. Each camper will have their temperature checked when they arrive at the field each day. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or more will not be allowed to attend camp that day.
  2. 12’ distance between staff and campers during skill activities, other than scrimmages
  3. All breaks will be taken outdoors in a shaded area of the field
  4. 12’ distance during break times (water/snack/lunch)
  5. 6’ distance and wearing of masks if shelter is needed during a thunderstorm
  6. Single-person bathroom surfaces will be disinfected after each camper uses it
  7. STABLE GROUPS: Each camper will be assigned to a group with one coach on the first day and will remain in that group throughout the camp. Break times of each group will be staggered so there are no large groups congregating on the field at the same time
  8. No sharing of equipment.
  9. Practice Pinnies with numbers will be loaned to each camper on the first day and they will take them home/bring back for each day of camp. Parents may choose to wash them nightly. These must be returned on the last day of camp.

ADHERENCE TO SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

  • Safety precautions will be explained to all campers at the beginning of each day
  • They will be monitored by coaches and SYSA staff throughout the day
  • Any camper not adhering to safety precautions will be given a verbal warning.
  • Multiple warnings will result in a call to the parent
  • Continued need for reminders to follow precautions may result in the camper being asked not to return the next day or for the remainder of camp. SYSA STAFF’S JUDGMENT WILL BE FINAL-NO REFUNDS
